‘Discarded’ 2025

“Ghost nets are devastating to marine life: deserted fishing gear becomes a needless suffocating trap when lost at sea. ‘Discarded’ is comprised of salvaged scraps of structural steel, shaped and abraded into a thistle-like chainmail. Exploring the relationship between entrapment and protection, Chamberlain considers the powerful, yet vulnerable nature of the sea, and the lasting impact our actions will have upon it for years to come.”
